In past, God had revealed Himself partially in diverse religious traditions! In Judaism, the expectation of a Messiah was really strong from times of yore. In Hinduism, strong religious people brought forth the idea of a Prajapati. But, in the fullness of time, God revealed the perfect ‘Messiah’ or ‘Prajapati’ through the incarnation of His only begotten son, Jesus of Nazareth. The author of the Epistle to the Hebrews writes, "In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe" (Hebrews 1:1ff.).

The Supreme Being discovered by the Rishies (Hindu Saints) at the end of their spiritual search and the revelation of God in Christ are not two different entities, but one and the same. There is a magnificent stanza in the Brahdaranyakopanishad: "Assathoma Satgamaya; Thamassoma Jyotirgamaya; Mruthyoma Amrutham Gamaya" (1.3:27). This Sanskrit stanza means: "Lead me from Untruth to Truth; from Darkness to Light; from Death to Immortality". This prayer of the enlightened has reached its pinnacle of perfection in Christ Jesus. Jesus told: "I am the light of the world; whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life".

John 1:18 (Holy Bible) says: "No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, had declared him”. John himself says about Jesus: “…the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth" (John 1:14). Jesus is the only medium through whom we can experience the presence of God in our earthly life. Jesus says about Himself: "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him” (Matthew 11:27).

God calls everyone to come to the throne of justice, as our souls are very precious. God does not wish to see the spirit of life (our souls) which is part and parcel of the Supreme Spirit (God) himself perish forever. By spirit of life and Supreme spirit are meant life which dwells in our body and God who is the source of this life. Jesus in His human form revealed the glory of God in perfection! Bible says: “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to human beings by which we must be saved” (Acts of the Apostles 4:12). God exhorts human beings who are his children through Christ Jesus: “Repent, otherwise all of you will perish” (Luke 13:5). When it is said that you will perish what is meant is that the soul will fall into hell. Therefore, the Word of God says: "What good will it is for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul" (Matthew 16:26). Consequently, Christ declares: “I am the way and the truth and the life. He who believes in me has everlasting life" (John 14:16).

To believe in Jesus means to live according to his words. Christ himself tells us whom we believe when we believe in Jesus: “When a man believes in me, he does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me" (John 12:44-45). Jesus further says: "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him and we will come to him and make our home with him/her" (John 14:23). It is worth quoting Peter’s message to the Gentiles in Acts of Apostles 10:34ff: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts people from every nation who fear him and do what is right. You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all".

Apostle Paul says: "All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous" (Romans 2:12ff.). Paul further says: "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them…We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God" (2 Corinthians 5:17ff.).

Faith in Christ is faith in God. Therefore, let everyone become believers in Christ. What is important is a life lived according to the Word, not external observances or doings. Christ revealed God the Father through His life. Therefore, believers in Christ should not be carried away by the deceitful attractions of the evil. A believer in Christ must become the light of the world. Only then will faith reach its perfection. With that Christ becomes both his/her savior and friend. When Christ was born in Palestine it was informed the wise men of the east, i.e., the non-Jewish world. Not only at His birth but even before that, the plan of salvation through the sacrificial death of Christ was revealed in the ancient Vedas, the Hindu religious books. When the ancient sages wrote about the sacrifice of Prajapati (God), quite unknowingly they were portraying the Lord Jesus Christ as the way of salvation.

The Vedas are a collection of Hindu religious books written before the earthly life of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Vedas describe about the sacrificial death of Prajapati. The literal meaning of the word Prajapati is the Lord of all creation. He is the Creator. Therefore, the Prajapati’s sacrifice means the sacrifice of God Himself. Some important features of the Prajapati sacrifice fulfilled in Jesus: (1) the meaning of the word ‘Prajapati’ (the Lord of All Creation) is fulfilled only in Jesus. According to the Holy Bible, Jesus Christ is the Creator of the World: “All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being” (John 1:3); (2) According to the Vedas, Prajapati is called Purusa, a Man of Perfection (Purusasukta, Rig Veda 10:90:1-16). Christ refers to Himself "Son of Man" (Matthew 20:28); (3) the definitions of "Purusa" in Vedic literature are meaningful only when they applied to Jesus (cf. Yajur Veda 32:4; Brahadaranyakopanishad 1.4.1); (4) the sacrificial man should be closely tied to the sacrificial pillar (Sathapatha Brahmana 3.7.3.1). Christ was closely nailed to the cross, the sacrificial pillar; (5) the blood of the sacrificial man should be shed, according to the Vedas, is fulfilled in Jesus’ crucifixion; and (6) the sacrificial man should return to life after the sacrifice (Brahadaranyakopanishad 3.9.28.4,5), fulfilled in Jesus’ resurrection.

In sum, the incarnation of Jesus on the surface of the earth is the apex of divine manifestation! Jesus came at the fullness of time to save the humanity through his atoning death at the cross of Calvary. In Him, all the expectations of diverse social, religious, and philosophical communities had taken the absolute shape. Therefore, we, the human beings, must believe on the healing power, loving mercy, saving kindness, and redeeming grace of our Lord Jesus Christ! He is the Master and the Savior, who alone can transform our lives!
